Day 7: Saturday 16.4.2016

On Saturday we didn’t have any school or gigs. We just got to rest and see some more Derry. In the evening we went to the Bennigans bar to listen to some local jazz musicians and also our own teachers play. The amount of musical skill on stage that night was absolutely good craic.

Day 6: Friday 15.4.2016

Our second gig in the week was at NWRC theatre. Every band performed two songs.

We had the entire day free till the next gig in the evening. Most of the people went shopping and eat some good food. The gig in the evening was really fun. Playing and listening to music that we created was one of the best experiences of the week.

Day 5: Thursday 14.4.2016

In the morning we had a inspiring class about musicianship. At the same time Jan and one boy from Kokkola went to speak to the school radio, they also played one of their own songs.

Rest of the day all of the other students had studio sessions. Everyone didn’t get their songs recorded because of the tight timelimit that we had. We went to Dungloe's bar to watch some soccer. The atmosphere in the bar was absolutely amazing. After the game everyone else, but Jenica went to listen some local live music. 

Day 4: Wednesday 13.4.2016

We went to near coffee shop to get some boost in to our morning.  From the coffee shop we proceeded to the school to make some songs. Jan and Mika`s bands had a studio session and got the rest of the day off afterwards. Later the same day Tapani a.k.a ”Tappi” came and bought us all a meal.

Day 3: Tuesday 12.4.2016

Tuesday was not so different from Monday. We went to school and started working the next songs. We also arranged acoustic version of one song for the gig in the evening at the Bennigans bar. We witnessed the effect of derry-time. The gig was supposed to start at 10pm, but we got to start at 00:30am. There was a LOT of technical difficulties at the gig, but everything was great in the end. The nice bartenders offered free drinks  for the performers.

Day 2: Monday 11.4.2016

When we woke up we went downstairs to eat some breakfast and were kind of disappointed because we thought we would have a good hotel breakfast. Instead there was some white bread and peanut butter. After breakfast we went to the school to meet up with the MusiCreates crew and start creating music with our bandmates from around the world. The first writing session was at 10-12am except for Jenica whom band started writing at 12am-2pm because of the lack of practise spaces.  During the days we had two practise times which were both 2h. In between we had a little break and in the evenings we didn’t have anything scheduled except for some of the gigs that we had. The goal for the first day was that we needed to get one song done. 

Day 1: Sunday 10.4.2016

The whole sunday we spend travelling. At first we went to the Kajaani Airport for our first flight to Helsinki. Everything went well to this point and everybody was feeling well. We arrived to Helsinki on time and we had couple of hours to spend at the airport while we were waiting for our flight to London. 

Our flight arrived at London little late so we had to rush to the gate to get to the last flight to Belfast on time. 

At the airport we took a taxi to get us to the bus station. At the bus everyone was tired because of the long trip we just had. We arrived at Derry around midnight. We were quite shocked when we saw the hostel that we would stay for the next week. Mika, Jan, Jussi and Eetu stayed in one room with 3 bunk beds, and Jenica got her own room.  At the end of the day we went to local fast food place to get something to eat. After all we found out that the food was terrible.
